High Country Cowboys in Concert

Basin City Arts Center

April 1, 2017  @7:00

Western Harmony and Yodeling Fun!

The singing cowboy trio from Red Lodge Montana, The High Country Cowboys, takes listeners back to a time when country/western music was real. They evoke silver screen cowboys like Roy Rogers, Western harmony groups like Sons of the Pioneers, and country music icons like Marty Robbins.  Hear their western harmony and yodeling fun at the Basin City Arts Center Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m.

Born and raised in Montana where the cowboy spirit is still alive, the three brothers, John, Joe, and Marty have found a desire to revive all the aspects of Traditional Western Music, that were born to it, in its heyday. The High Country Cowboys, members of the Western Music Association, have released several albums.  In 2015, their lead singer Marty, was awarded as the WMA’s Yodeler of the Year. In 2016, they were nominated for the WMA Crescendo Award, and their  album “Songs of the High Country Cowboys” is in the Final 5 nominees for the 2016 WMA Western Album of the Year.

With their two guitars, (made by bass player Joe), and three part western harmony, their traditional sound continues to gain a wider audience. Since their start at the local Pollard Hotel in 2014, they have performed at numerous fundraisers, fairs, outdoor concerts and Theaters. You may also see them perform the National Anthem from horseback at different Rodeo events. In April of 2016, they debuted at the Alberta Bair Theater in Billings MT, before a crowd of 500.  Later that year they played for a crowd of 2000 at St. Johns Summer Concert Series, also in Billings. While many folks believe that this is something that they’ve been striving for all their lives, any one of the boys will tell you that their music career has been something that they never dreamed of doing! “It is more like something that came about accidentally!”

The High Country Cowboys show starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 1.  Tickets are Adults $10 and  Ages 12 & under $5.  The Basin City Arts Center is a nonprofit organization developing and supporting the arts in the Big Horn Basin.
