Dance in Unlikely Places is a small touring group of dancers who perform in “unlikely places” – unusual sites or spaces in which dance is typically not presented. This year the tour runs May 16 – May 19 at 16 different locations across Wyoming, including Basin at the Basin City Art Center on May 18th. The workshop will be held at 5:30pm with a show followed at 6:30pm. Both are free to the public. The Dance in Unlikely Places group is based in Laramie, Wyoming and consists of five dance majors from the University of Wyoming’s Department of Theatre & Dance. The mission of “Dance in Unlikely Places” is to expose various locations throughout Wyoming to collegiate level concert dance. “Dance in Unlikely Places” seeks to expose its viewers to the beauty of Wyoming by inviting local community members to our performances and by documenting performances. The show will run approximately 30 minutes and includes various genres of dance such as Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz and Musical Theatre. The workshops will run approximately 45-60 minutes and will include Jazz and Creative Movement - the workshops are open to all ages and skill levels.
